Design journeys.

As a TravelDesigns by Campbell travel advisor you’ll have the power to craft exceptional experiences for your clients.

Your creativity realized.

Your clients could book a trip on any online travel site. But that’s not why they come to you. They come to you because they know you’re more than someone who plans trips and books travel. You’re someone they can trust to open their eyes to new worlds and new experiences.

Have More Questions?

Is there a cost to join TravelDesigns by Campbell?
We do charge a one-time onboarding fee of $500, which covers your joining paperwork, registrations, and onboarding training, as well as your profile on Virtuoso.com. If you’re new to the travel industry, you will be eligible for a full refund of the $500 fee at the end your first year with TravelDesigns if you meet a minimum of $10,000 generated in commission sales.
Am I able to operate under my own name and brand?
We absolutely encourage you to build and develop your own brand and unique voice for your travel business. After all, your clients come to you for a reason. As an independent contractor signing with TravelDesigns, you will become an affiliate of our agency and we will represent your brand as such.
What is the commission split paid by TravelDesigns to advisors?
Travel advisors begin at a 50 percent commission split and can achieve up to 80 percent by hitting gross commission tiers throughout the year. If you are an established advisor with proven commission sales, your split is determined based on your most recent 1099. For leads that come from TravelDesigns the commission split is 50/50 for the first time the client books with you.
What type of training is available and how much does it cost?
We provide a combination of live and on-demand virtual training produced in-house by TravelDesigns as well as through the Virtuoso network and our technology partners. Whether new to travel or a seasoned veteran, you’ll have the resources to advance your career. All training is covered through a one-time onboarding fee of $500.
Are there ongoing costs for being a TravelDesigns travel advisor?
We’re proud to deliver a robust range of support services to our advisors for no additional cost beyond your commission split, including seller of travel insurance (required by several states). However, you also have the option to pay for additional services or technologies through us if desired. We strongly recommend securing errors and omissions (E&O) insurance, available from a range of providers for as little as $50 per month.
How much money can a travel advisor make?
Your commission revenue is typically 10%+ of your sales. Successful first-year advisors usually sell $400K to $500K. Sales in the second and third years typically increase as you build your book of business. The average luxury leisure booking is approximately $10K, which can add up quickly. As an independent travel advisor, your success is entirely dependent on how much you invest in yourself and your career.
How long does it take to get started?
You can start selling travel from the day your contract is signed. The initial training period uses online self-guided modules, so can proceed at whatever pace you choose. The online training is also supplemented by in-person and live webinar training. The TravelDesigns team and fellow travel advisors will be available to make helpful recommendations and provide destination and product updates to keep you on your game.
Can I become a travel advisor while still working full-time or part-time elsewhere?
Launching a new business is a full-time job. While it may seem appealing to work as a travel advisor part-time, we find that the most successful and profitable advisors are those that devote their full time and effort to building their networks and growing their commissions.
